Whales spotted off shore in Hatillo

Local residents have reported tie sighting of two humpback whales off the shore of the town of Hatillo, the most recent in a string of sightings of the colossal animals in the last few weeks.

TSA and Continental Airlines Expand Paperless Boarding Pass Program at SJU

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Continental Airlines announced today the expansion of the Paperless Boarding Pass pilot program at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU). The program will allow passengers to receive boarding passes electronically on their cell phones or PDAs, which will then be scanned by Transportation Security Officers at the checkpoint and eliminate the need for a paper boarding pass.

Rincón Film Festival April 28 to May 3

Feb 26, 2009 – The Rincon International Film Festival will be held this year from April 28 to May 3. Selected films will be presented at the Lazy Parrot, Casa Islena, Ship Wreck and Rincon Beach Resort. Last year 300 films were submitted from 14 countries. 30 film makers from China, Argentina, Germany, Canada, USA and Puerto Rico attended. 69 films were screened including 13 world premiers.

Ah, august. It’s that time of the year again where most families return to their daily routine of taking the kids to school, getting early to work, and so forth. For the regular traveler, the end of july means the end of the "fun" season. However, if you know where to look, you can actually enjoy a peaceful, jet exciting vacation, Puerto Rico style.
