La Plata Zipline / Canopy Experience (Dorado/Toa Alta) This half day package combines both cultural history and eco adventure all in one. Your tour driver will pick you up at your hotel lobby and drive you to the town of Toa Alta, one of the oldest towns on the island which was founded by the Spanish in 1752. Surprisingly, as far back as 1509 only 17 years after the island was discovered in 1492 a small farming complex with a huge house and a few small houses was founded in this municipality. The "parcela" or area of land was called " La Granja de Los Reyes Catlicos" or The Farm of the Spanish Crown as it was established to produce fruits and vegetables for the King and Queen Of Spain. The Toa valley, as the Taino indians called this area is home to La Plata river, the longest and most important water source on the island which you will get to see along the route and at the end of your tour. Your final destination will be at Finca La Plata, a private eco farm which reveals Puerto Rico's beautiful northern hills and countryside scenery were you will hike, go flying off our amazing zipline circuit which includes the 800 ft. zipline (Big Mango) which takes you straight into the beautiful Cruz Creek Gorge where you can enjoy some nice over the canopy ziplines, challenge bridges over the gorge, treetop platforms, dive in natural swimming holes and finally a short hike upstream straight into the "Guaraguao" Trail where you will witness some of the most amazing vistas of the area reveling Puerto Rico's incredible topography. To close the tour you will be served with a delicious typical puertorrican plate ( other choices available for the shy culinary traveler and kids.) Only 30 min. away from San Juan and it's vicinities ( Condado/ Isla Verde) and 15 minutes away from Dorado.
