Location Description
The Cemí Musem is an interestingly built building, shaped on the form of a cemí, a religious figure used by local taino tribes. The town of Jayuya is located on the skirts of the "Tres Picachos" or Three Peaks mountain, a shape that resembles that of the cemí. It is in fact believed that the hills hold importance to the taino residents of prehistoric Puerto Rico, due to the constant representation of the three hills of Jayuya. The museum itself holds a small exhibit of taino items unearthed on the area. It is located right next to the Canales Museum.
